View Full Version : Menus in the menubar
Do I have to compile stuff in order to put a custom menu into the menubar?
I.e. have a custom pulldown under the rendering module
and if so (or not) can anyone help me do it?
thanks

Not sure what you mean,
F1 -> Index -> M -> scroll down to "mel commands"
Look under "menu, menuBarLayout , menuEditor, menuItem"
well at the top of maya, where you get the pulldowns file, edit, modify, create, etc... That's where I want to put my menu.

You can do it with the MenuItem command
Check the help for it..

So I guess with that I'd have to go find one of the maya init scripts with the menu stuff in it. that's all good for when I'm at home, but I want to do the same thing at school where I don't have access to the c:\. However I do know that maya 4.5 supports roaming profiles so i can make a plugin folder on my network drive and it will always find it there....so that's the approach I was looking for..

Can't look it up right now, but you can do it with MEL in your userSetup.mel file. If you have a personal default project at school you should be able to put it there.
