Hey Everyone,

I just finished working on my animated film for my thesis and thought I’d share it with everyone in the community. It’s titled “Scaling Up” and the log line is:
“Discouraged by tedious repetition, Jimmy discovers an awe-inspiring ability when he finds a mystical trumpet.”
Here are links to the Film and Trailer (or you can just check out the website (http://www.brianblasiak.com/scalingup/) too). The film is almost 8 minutes long, and the trailer is only a little over a minute, so you can check that out first to see if you feel like watching the entire thing. Comments and criticism are welcome. Thanks for watching!

This is great....animation and story...
the mood of the enviroment is excellent...

I liked the face expression and body animation...

but the skin texture seems too bright....

overall very good.

It's nice, but the character's waaaaaay too stiff.

Alom,

Thanks for the comments! originally I was trying to get the characters skin to look a little more over-exposed since he's been under the hot stagelights, but it ending up coming out brighter than I intended so I agree with you there....

xazard,

I appreciate the critique and agree that some parts do feel stiff, but there are others that I am very happy with. I didn't try to animate the character stylistically, but instead tried to give him as much realism as possible, with my short animation schedule of course :) I was using reference footage of myself to animate the character, and think at times i was trying to be too accurate or used too many keyframes, which ended up making the character stiff and jerky at times. It's quite a challenge to animate with realism cause our eyes are so good at picking out anything that seems off. I hope it didn't take away too much from your experience and that you still enjoyed the film!

Thanks guys for the feedback so far, I'm always looking for ways to improve so keep firing away
