I have attached a link to a short clip that I am working on.

I am using Particle Flow to generate instanced space ships that are flying, however at the moment I have only managed to get the ships moving forward. I wanted to get them turning after coming out of the space station, I have tried to use a random 3D dispersement but the result meant the space ships come out ever where..

The only ship that turns , has been animated separately.

Does anyone have a suggestion that may help me to get the space ships to turn in any direction after they have left the space station.

thanks
Simon

Add some wind to your particle emitter and adjust the turbulence and frequency to your liking. In your pflow view, set your emitter's object rotation to speed space follow. You'll have to tweak the settings, but that should get it going in the right direction.

you could position a deflector just outside the hanger so that when they collide with it they get sent to a new event with a find target. then just create a whole bunch of random targets where you'd like your planes to go, add them to the find target list and keep it set to 'random target'
then of course you can control their movement to the targets either by speed or by time

4 low Thanks for the tip, I have gone with the wind and am currently adjusting the settings of the wind to get the best effect. The result can be seen in the new clip below.
