Hey guys I finally cut my new reel...so here I am posting it! I'm currently looking for a full time position in VFX or game cinematics, so if anybody in Southern California needs an FX Artist, I'd be more than willing to relocate! Same goes for anybody here in the Seattle area that has an opening... :)

Feel free to d/l my resume, contact info and shot breakdown/credits on www.innersolitude.com (http://www.innersolitude.com)

QT:
http://www.innersolitude.com/Farns_DemoReel_07_h264_Hi.mov (28megs)
http://www.innersolitude.com/Farns_DemoReel_07_h264_Lo.mov (19 megs)

The full intro cinematic for Supreme Commander can now be seen on www.gametrailers.com (http://www.gametrailers.com) in case anybody is interested. The game hasn't been released yet, but the FMV team over there did an outstanding job on all of the cinematics.

Hope you enjoy it!

Hey man!

Nice work. I really like your particle work. You seem to be mastering the look of smoke and explosions. Your lighting is getting there. My only critique would be put more work on your textures so they look more realistic. People usually critique the bad things only, and that may affect your demo reel. Like I said your particle is very nice, and it seems like you have put a lot of work there. Just work on your textures.

Keep up the good work!

that´s a neat reel you´ve got there Ian!

really like your AB skills! The desert/robot scene has a nice dramaturgy maybe a lil more camera shake and handycam look :)
the city matte with AB destruction is well done too.

Some nice effects on there, but for me, the best part was the scene with the robot and the tanks - It had the most polished look to it.

Well done Ian. Love the mech scene, I watch that over and over. The city transition is pretty cool too both audio and visual. Well done. How did you achieve the great wispy effect on the particles?

How did you achieve the great wispy effect on the particles?

Using lots and lots of tiny particles... with a few wind space warps for turbulence.

Thanks again guys for the replies! The job hunt is still going. I at least have a regular job for now to pay my bills! But hopefully for not too long, eh!? :)
