View Full Version : Split points - possible in C4D ?
FR33K 02-06-2007, 10:16 PM in the attached mouth you see 4 selected points which i wanna split so i get an open mouth without losing any polygons. The solution should be without edge cut :) a bud said its not possible with c4d ... what you bet?

Sadly your bud is right currently. This wasn't always the case though it seems to have creeped in since the 8.0 modeling tools update, before then disconnect would break a mesh open along the selected points. It may be a bug, report it to Maxon.

a workaround would be to select the polygons just below the line of points.
Disconnect these ( preserve group).
Then select all points exept for those of the edge that should remain open, ( those from the newly disconnected polygons as well as those that are underneath them, from the rest of the mesh) and run 'optimize'
