Hi all,

I was wondering if vRay was able to use HDRI (High Dynamic Range Images).

I have been looking for such information on vRay official web site and on the web but have not been able to find anything...

Maybe one of you knows more about it ! If it is the case just reply !

Thanks a lot by advance.

I started out on the VRAY forum at Delphiforums with the very same question. Finally, I was led to this great tutorial on Splutterfish. It's primarily for the Brazil renderer, but it also works perfectly wel with VRAY! Just make sure you download the HDRI loader.

Hope this helps. If you need any other help with it, please email me.

You don't need the splutterfish-loader.

Just add a VRayHDRI map in the enviroment slot and select the mapping type. No need to mess around with HDRshop or RGB output values (the VRay map isn't restricted to 32bit color like the max bitmap loader)

btw: for VRay info go to exactly that... http://VRay.info

Hey, thanks for the info. I'll try the VRAY HDRI as you said. It's always nice to have someone around who knows what they're talking about.

Many Thanks.
