Stepunk 02-25-2003, 07:06 AM Umm...I did this model of NCC1701 Enterprise A from Star Trek.... it's not very detailed but also the original was very simple :)

i hate it, only because i hate trek...
from a non-trek-hating standpoint, i think the model is really good. the only thing i would work on is texturing and materials, and then work on the background stuff. from what limited knowledge i have of trek, it seems spot on other than materials and scenes.
good stuff!

Come on guys,
Why do I get the feeling some of the people here who say they hate trek are the people dressed up like storm troopers at Star Wars openings or elves at LOTR openings.
:shame:
Someone who posted a message here wouldn't have a rendered ship from a sci-fi story on the front page of their website.
Hehehehe
Just playing with you all. Someone had to defend the trek.

Excellent model.
Just a quick comment, the first picture makes the indentation on the bottom of the saucer section look too deep. The only reference I have is "Mr Scotts Guide to the Enterprise" and it's of the Enterprise from the first 3 movies - NCC-1701 (no A)

Looks nice!
I would make the textures 'dirtier' and maybe add a little more bump.
Also I would make the star texture smaller so they don't look so out of focus... a nice start :)

Nice models. My C&C will be the same as the others, just some work on the textures is needed. : )

Regardless of the model, you need to work your camera settings a bit more. Right now your scaling looks all off.

The model looks okay but the light setup...ehhh. Meni (menithings.com) wrote a small tut about space light setup.
Hmmm, even old star treck renderings from www.thelightworks.com are cooler...May pay them a visit?
Have fun...Cya.
