Trying out the idea of alienish Vishnu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vishnu).
I'll probably stay with the body as it is but rework the head.

I'll probably go with the top left one since it seems to fit the "shadow" theme best, though bottom left would do for keeping the creature Vishnu-like.
Weapons - the lower arms will hold patas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pata_%28weapon%29) (Indian weapon, so it fits the idea perfectly), the upper arms will use a shield and spear combination or some godly magic bow of smiting the evil ;).
Devanagari (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devanagari) might be used for decoration.
