View Full Version : Need info on using uvw channels and render to texture

Okay back in the summer a discreet rep came to our company and was giving all these cool demos of the nifty new features of max. Of course the entire time I was 1. awestruck and 2. overwhelmed. One thing that I thought was particularly cool was how the rep texture mapped the head. She had a texture for the front of the face and the side of the face. Simply placing the textures on the face create the obvious border from one texture to the other. She used some kind of voodoo whereas she used an alpha channel to blend the two textures into each other. Of course I don't specifically remember the steps. Then she rendered the entire thing together with Render to Texture. If anyone has a vague idea of what I am talking about please explain what I am supposed to do thanks.
