I have the following problem with my dragon rig: I have set up an IK solver for the legs, but now I can't rotate my feet (you can see what I mean in the picture)

so how can I do this? is there a work around method?

thx :)

Put an ik(RP) to the bone before the toes from the ankle.
Put ik's on all the toes from the base of the toe bones.
Put them all in a group.
Put that group under your controler.
then it'll work.

You can also use the groups to rotate the toes etc etc.

Try it out.
If you want I can email you an example. Of my foot rig.

i'm fiddling around with a very similar rig. it's a dissected human walking on his hands... it would be great if you could send me your solution too! :)

you could always create an object to control the rotation, a nurbs curve, or whatever else you want....orient constrain it to the joint so it matches the joint's rotation, break the connections on the curve and then orient constrain the joint to the control. now you can control the rotation.

another solution would be to create a locator and do the orient constraints like mentioned above, then make that a child of the controller thats moving the IK.

have fun.
