View Full Version : Leg Controls
ossosso 02-04-2007, 06:42 PM Hi!
Can you please take a look at this rig? In particular at the Leg rig.
In this rig with the LeftFoot_ctrl I can move the leg and if I rotate the node I can also rotate the foot, but all the leg rotates with it.
How can I make only the foot rotating and mantein the leg fix?
Thank you very much!

by creating a pole vector constraint for the knee. That should keep your knee pointed at the pole vector when you rotate your foot control.

Thank you Dragonlair, it seems to work, just a little specification:
-I create a polygon sphere, I move it approximately in front of the knee, delete history and freeze transformation; then I select the IKhandle too and under Constraints--->Pole Vector. Now all works but the thigh bone rotate a little bit, probably because at the beginning I don't put the sphere exactly in front of the knee (my character in his BindPose hasn't the knee perfectly parallel to the Z axis, they are a little bit opened, rotated); so I'd like to know if there's a way to put an object exactly where the knee aims, in the way that when I create the Pole Vector constraint the bones remain in their Bind Pose and don't rotate.
Thank you very much.
