I've got a fairly simple architectural scene that I am trying to render but it takes an absurd amount of time when I increase the resolution (ideally to 3200 pxs wide). I've only been playing with it briefly and have kept the settings intentionally low. Is this normal?
Dell P4 2.4ghz 512mb rdram
Memory used: Physical: 310 mbs/ 511
Virtual: 621.8/1718
Time (for a 800x600): 5:40:13
Faces: 273270
Light Tracer Settings:
250 Samples, 1 bounce, no Adaptive Undersampling
There is the skylight, a raytraced directional (for crisp shadows), and 3 omnis for specific highlights. There is glass on the windows (no refraction), and a little water (no refraction). When I tried to render a large one I stopped it after 24 hours - it was less than a 3rd done.
My question would be - is this normal? I knew it took a while, but this is crazy!
Suggestions or comments woudl be appreciated.
