this is the character, from "commandos", I am working on these days. Haven't done much just the face. here is how he looks yet. The polycount is at 968. I am not worried too much about polys right now as I will clean him up once i get the model completed. Please let me know how he looks

it looks nice but he is still really square shaped. the chin Needs to be a bit smoother other than that I like it. the Barret(spelling) is nicely modeled.

This looks like a good start but are you using a reference?
It would be nice to see this in relation to the source material.

Oops! sorry about the wrong spellings. Thanks Warder for correcting me.
My progress is going really slow as I am busy with other things these days too. here is a little update with the arm and started on the hand, also adjusted his shirt a little bit. here is my reference. It has 2 different versions of him and i am making a mix up of both.

here is the completed body.he is at 4400 tris. Next thing would be to make his knife, pistol and may be other little bit stuff. and then i will see if i need to use more polygons and add more details here and there.:)

There's a problem with some of his proportions. the biggest one being his head. Model the shape of his entire head before attaching the hat and it will look better. His arms are fat, his face a tad to big, his chest and stomach are to cubic in form. His hands look to much like flat flaps, give them some more shape. His legs are a tad short, or at least it seems as if he has no knees.
You got the mesh done, and this could be great, but work on the shape a bit.

Aside from the problems the other guy mentioned, about the legs, the distance from the waist to the knee is the same distance from the bottom of the neck to the waist. So basically, the legs should be about two times the size of the torso.

sorry for my late response.......at the end of last week i got half life2 so i kept playing it for a couple of days and beat it on easy setting and the next day i got flu:sad: so i haven't really got time to work on it.
Thanks to FreakyDude and Farfalo for responding and pointing out the things i am doing wrong.
here is just a quick fix on some of the things but i might spend more time on it tomorrow and i will redo the hands too. Please keep helping me out:thumbsup:

worked on the hands. plus made his pistol. what's the best way to make teeth of game characters? plane with texture or better modeled teeth?

i am not an ace on painting textures but i did my best with mouse. for face i am using
512 X 512 texture sheet and for whole body i will use a 1024 X 1024 texture sheet. and
maybe another 512 X 512 for pistol and knife.
