theres also a video tutorial at www.3d-palace.com to do a simple hdri setup with mray in maya. sometimes its easier to follow along to a video and audio. b warned tho, u have to have the latest media player installed and the tscc codec which is linked to from the site too. http://www.3d-palace.com/modules.php?name=Archives&dcategory=Maya+HDRI+tutorial&sortby=

one other thing to poing out, i think you hafta sign up to get to the tutorials. but theres no junk mail or anything. just to prevent links bein' ripped.
