hi there ,
if u re renderin single images then use photoshop to reduce the hue & saturation a bit till it becomes a bit desaturated... then change the mode to multichannel..& voila ur work is done...
if u re renderin an avi..then use the same in combustion or any other software u re familiar with...
have fun c ya...:wavey:

ok thanx.
if you dont have a true gi renderer (that stands for global illumination) you can fake it by making a bunch of lights in a dome shape around the objects, so its being lit on all sides equally. that will produce that effect. make sure you instance them all so you dont have to change every single one if its too bright or whatever
theres also some scripts that do this for you. i dont know of any offhand but im sure you can find some

While I think it's not what you asking for, POV-Ray is a free renderer that can be used with Wings3d, and i've seen people getting similar results to those effects with this renderer. But I'm not sure if it has the same GI feature as you showed :hmm:
edit: nor skylight
In order to use POV-Ray together with wings you are going to need the KayosIII's POV-Ray export plugin.
Got the link at the wings site http://www.midcoast.com.au/~rgcoy/hobbies/wings.html
Hope it helped :)

I'd rather suggest KayosIII's RIBBit with 3Delight or Pixie. The latter supports true GI, the former can "only" do ambient occlusion and image based lighting but this is usually enough.

If you have maya 4.5 get mental ray from alias of you dont have it.
Then u can use the global illum. and final gather together to create great renderings.
