View Full Version : WIP basement passage...or something
Darkblade 03-27-2002, 04:13 PM Here's a little piece of work I have done...still under construction...
Should add some dirt and things to that scene...
But please, critics are welcome...
:wip:
Oh, and textures are temporary...I will change them when I get my camera working again...

just a few things right off.
First is that the image is too symetrical. Try breaking up the comp by clumping a bunch of smaller tubes on one side and large on the other. Right now you have almost a perfect mirror from one side to the other. Not really all that interesting.
also the lighting could use some work, maybe some colored lighting to set a mood. Right now it's nadda.
finially the texturing, but as you already said that you are working on that I won't hit them too hard. Just vary up the pipe textures, and have more concrete looking walls. IMHO
Hope that helps. :)

second what taoizm said. I also think the pipes diameter is too large for the room.
for some reason when i first looked at the room i thought i was looking at an air duct, and i think that is because of the large pipe diameter in relation the dimensions of the hallway.
also needs more subject matter, like a door or trap door... some signage or rubbish or soemthing
keep at it

I got a little bit of adrenalin out of that picture. It reminds me of one of my favorite games, Descent 3. It looks really good in compairson to the game graphics.

Hi.
I agree with Taoizm when he sais that the image looks too symetrical, which is something you should always try to avoid in the first place. I also think your corridor looks too gray.
A couple of changes and your image will look much better.
