View Full Version : Viewport navigation flicker (?)

Hi there.
I really like the lightness of Lightwave and rendering speed on my system.
My main problem is with viewport navigation.

I haven't downloaded the help files but have looked at the display options.
My experiece with default settings has been that there's a kind of a "flickering"
when navigating the viewport. I'm using an old FX card with OpenGL 2.0 drivers on XP.

I mean the OpenGL quality is definitely great, but models going ghost like and disappearing
while rotating isn't something easy to get used to.
Just wondering if there's a way around it maybe?

Otherwise really great quality.

I had the same problem a while back, using some of the default settings in Display/GL options

Try enabling the opengl multi-texturing features in the GL tab.. This should add a lil more speed using more of the hardware features on your videocard, rather than passing the GL calculations to your CPU. Enabling these settings made a huge difference for me..

also, think about upping your bounding box threshold if you want complex models to be drawn while in motion. This should help prevent any re-draw flicker also

Lemme know if this helps

Yes that worked really well thanks.
Lightwave layout is a really nice app I love the OpenGL quality.
I'll have to get that help file when I get a chance to go through it :buttrock:

Say do you know of any nice renderman plugins for lightwave ?
Also will they run with the discovery edition (?)
