Everything is modeled and textured in Zbrush. Everything is still in true poly right now (no 2.5D or Pixols)

Trying to get a more realistic texture. Not worried about SSS right now.

I would like to hear what you all think (on models too). Comments and suggestions welcome.

I think that the texture looks a bit blurry. You should consider adding small sharp blemishes. Like Moles or freckles or something.

I also think that the bump needs more depth.

But its looking killer so far, so keep up the great work!

The head looks cool, good job. Although, I agree the texture looks blurry, but only on the top right of his head and below his right eye, under the left eye looks fine. It may be an image output thing and not the actual texture though.

well I am going to have to revisit the texture because it is a little soft in those areas.


Now for the fun.

Here is a test of an experimental Universal SSS trishader I am making. As you can see, it works with a texture very well. The texture hasnt changed from the above one. The red terminator is from the trishader. The lighting is a three point lighting setup with a nice warm key light, a cool reflected light and a white backlight.

And finally, here he is in the Lighting setup I have for the Mahkabre within 2 image, same SSS TriShader as above, DoubleShader Eye material, lightened up on the color bump a bit, black fog, Global diffusion, Global Specular, and a nice radiosity sim shadow. Also, all lights and materials have no ambience and the lights have a hard fall off.

My first, hapless attempt at texturing this bad boy...I don't like it yet...going to work on it somemore...
