Hi everybody!

I'm releasing my final thesis for my degree in computer science. I've been working on it over 16 months, but it's finished at last.

It's some kind of video-clip, the song is "Time Is Running Out" by Muse.

Drone tells the story of PJ. He's obsessed with the society and the way of living that it's imposed to him. He feels he's alive only to work and produce.

Below there are some full-rez pics and links to the quicktime movies. Qt7 (H264) & Qt6 (MPEG4)
Comments & critics always welcome!! (About my english too  )

Here's the youtube version for those having problems with the server.

Hope you like it.

Cheers.

Hi & thanks!

Yep, the atmosphere and lighting are meant to be storytelling tools, so I "invested" a lot of time on them. The lighting tells us how the character feels, the sadder (is that ok? ) he is, the more grayish the ilumination becomes.

I think that the restricted use of color in objets (most are just different shades of gray) helps to create a "concrete world" really awful to live in.

So all in all, yup, it's very moody.

Cheers.

Nice work, but your servers are quite slow, you should put it up on youtube/google video etc so that more people could see it (and not get impatient waiting for the movie to even come up on a blank page).

Very nice work with a subtle feel of early european expressionism - good job

JamesMK: Thanks, I'm very influenced by the way Hitchcock moved the camera and used the light as characters, and he was influenced by german impressionist (impressionism = expressionism? ).

It's nice to get your job watched by people of different cultures , too bad so few of them want to write down something about it .

Anyway, thanks everyone for watching it.

Cheers.

Good question actually - I've always considered those isms to be somewhat overlapping (in terms of results that is, although perhaps with very different starting points). Guess I went for the "expr" prefix because there was a slight sense of passive aggression in many of those shots :D

Again, very cool short.
