very impressive yet again, but the dirt doesn't make as much sense onthis one, being underwater seems that dirt wouldn't form like that.

boats can be mucky underneath them, and pretty much anything you leave in the sea will eventually have algae or something growing on it, and metal will tend to go rusty quickly due to the salt..

but to be honest I just slapped tha dirt texture on because I thought it looked kind of cool :)

please me too I'd love to know more about how you textured that so beautifully... the eye looks awesome

can i suggest a copper prop built into the tail fin, some bubbles and
some seaweed caught on the top fin, maybe barnacles as well?

Nice work

Too sharp for under water, give it some blur and then add some dof blur as well. Also add some shadow on the outer to give the illusion there are rocks or something surrounding it but out of sight.Last of all a silty cloud trail behind it will make it look even better :)

Another keeper. ;) Maybe add some dof on the main fish, and/or some depth-cue fog that gives a little fade to the main fish. Another thing that could look nice would be to hit him with a shadow-casting volumetric light.

For a little inspiration regarding Adams comment: http://www.swrendering.com/water.html

Lot's of pretty pictures :) to get some ideas about how water works with light . . .

Check the underwater rays and shadows on some of the images.

I hope you feel inspired!

The thing I like most of all about your work is that it's very stylised and expressive, I can pretty much tell a piece of work was done by you as soon as I see it.

Great work, and you definitely get my vote.

Cheers everyone, you're all so very supportive
really appreciate the feedback, I'll try a few of those modifications and see how they turn out, thanks for the links medula I'll try making the environment in C4D next time to get a better atmosphere, thanks again :)

Claudio:: that project is kind of ongoing thing really, I want to build a large alien space port with lots of aliens wandering around going about their business, but it could take a while to build all the props, I'll keep you guys updated anyway :)
