i like it. i like golf. the club heads seem a little big in relation to the length of the bag.

i would maybe move the club a little closer to the camera

Looks pretty good, but I agree with what was already said as well as the tees. The tees seem to rest kinda funny on the grass.

the DOF is quite strange, i'd expect more DOF fx for the background pic

i really like this, it looks real good  thoe i would have to agree about the DOF, its a bit strange, maybe blur the background more and see it that helps, but when it comes to DOF, the entire concept is puzzling to me :) once you get the DOF ironed out this picture will looks exceptionally good. nice work

the bag needs to be bigger cuz right now the dof is totally messed up. if that bag is that low in the dof, then its gonna be alot bigger in relation to the walkway which is right behind it. kay gogogo

Ya know...when I first clicked the post and saw the picture, I thought it was titled Divine Rage. And you know what...it seemed to fit the image perfectly. Those of you who have attempted golf, and suck as bad as I do, know where I'm coming from. Very nice image.:applause:

:bounce: Very nice grass :)
Did you use only paint FX grass ??

looks quite realistic. If I didn't see the wireframe and were not looking for CGish items I would have thought it were a photo.
I think the DOF is fine, and I usually nitpick at the DOF...actually, it might get a little too strong a little too fast, but the trees in the very back look fine :)

you've done a good job, giving it a depth but the background seems to be a bit too blurry.
It still looks good, though. :D

Nice Pic. I thought the same about the DOF and the large clubs(in comparison to the bag). It came out really well. Are we going to be able to see the updated pic? This could be a really strong piece.
Right on!:buttrock:

Thanks a lot for all the comments. I agree with much of what was said. I would really like to go back and tweak it, but my rigging class has kept me really busy (got a pretty sweet rig though). Which is also why it's taken me so long to reply. Maybe this weekend i'll find some time.
Now for the grass... I really appreciate all the comments about the compositing and such, but to be honest, I don't deserve them. There is no compositing involved. Maya has a shader called "use background shader." Basically, it takes the image that is linked to the camera and applies it to geometry. That is why i modeled the grass infront of the objects in the scene. It works really well, but it has one major flaw; once you try to animate the camera, the illusion is lost. I considered using a couple of different things for the grass, including paint effects. However, since all i had to turn in was a still image, i think the use background gave me the best results.
Again, thanks for the comments, hope to have an update soon.
Hey Magic6534, you should come to Full Sail, i think its a good school. Just be prepared to devote your life to maya. :)

I can see what you have done with the grass now you have told us, but before, you couldn't tell. Excellent piece all the same! I think the DOF coming into play early after the club gives the impression that we are looking downhill then on. Could be just me though!! :p
