It says in the Pyro manual, that it is possible to create a waterfall effect using Pyro. Has anyone ever actually made a waterfall using pyro? Or would this simply be way too complex and difficult.

I think when they say "waterfall effect" they are referring to the turbulent whitewater "mist" you would see when looking at a big waterfall. Not so much fluid effects but "smoke" effects.

I guess i would create a wide/shallow emitter that is oriented on the z plane and add a gravity effector, so as the particles flow forward they eventually "go over the edge" when they hit the gravity field.

Maybe add some emitters at the bottom of the "ravine" as well, where the river would begin --and have them emitting steam/mist/ smoke in the y axis. This would mimic the splash mist that you would see in a real waterfall.

Of course you would first want to build the cliff /gorge /river then setup your particles after that. Using a modified smoke or volcano preset (I'd make them whiter/bluer) should work.
