Hi Guys,

I've been playing around with C4D for a while now, and have completed some work where I applied a Displacement Map through the Texture to sphere, all fairly random and basic.

So, I wondered if I could somehow convert this texture/map into something that I can see and edit in the viewport? At the moment all I can see is the sphere until I render it and it becomes the loverly mess i've created.

Ok thanks for any info,

Rob.

you have to either use the displace deformer in the mograph module or you can use nickl from the jenna plug-in set (although jenna is no longer available so if you haven't got it then mograph is your only route).

michael welter has a noise deformer that uses several of the built in c4d noises to deform an object but this doesn't work with image maps and it doesn't support all the c4d noises.

finally depending on the shape of the object you can sometimes use the relief object to generate something 3 dimensional from an image.

cheers, simon w.

Or Ditools; DiShaper+ which works in R10. At least on my PC license.
