On Tuesday, February 13th, 2007, NYC ACM SIGGRAPH is very excited to present our screening of the SIGGRAPH 2006 Electronic Theater reel. This year, we are fortunate to have the SIGGRAPH 2006 Computer Animation Festival Chair, Terrence Masson, as our guest host for the evening. The screening will be held at FIT's Haft Auditorium and run from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. The Haft Auditorium is located in Building C of FIT's campus on 27th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues. NYC ACM SIGGRAPH would like to thank FIT for their generous support of this event.
We are very pleased to be able to present the entire SIGGRAPH 2006 Electronic Theater (including all the major studio pieces) as it was presented in Boston at last year's conference using Sony's state-of-the-art ultra high resolution SXRD 4K projector. This is an extraordinary opportunity for anyone that was not able to attend SIGGRAPH 2006. And if you did make it to SIGGRAPH 2006, here is a unique chance to relive one of the most exciting venues from last year's conference. NYC ACM SIGGRAPH wishes to thank Sony Electronics Inc. for providing SXRD projection and HDCAM SR playback systems for this event. The SIGGRAPH 2006 Electronic Theater is part of the world's most prestigious film and video extravaganza, showcasing dazzling and innovative imagery in invited and submitted works selected by a distinguished jury of computer graphics experts and specialists. As part of the Computer Animation Festival, the SIGGRAPH 2006 Electronic Theater is internationally recognized and lauded as an event that serves to engage and inspire artists, scientists, engineers, designers, and students to harness the power of the digital image to explore the boundlessness of imagination.
Admission to this event for NYC ACM SIGGRAPH members is, as always, free. It is also free for FIT faculty, staff and students. For non-member professionals, the admission cost is $15.00; for non-member students (with proof of currently-enrolled full-time status) admission is $8.00. (At the conference, the Electronic Theater costs $50 per person so these fees represent a tremendous discount.)
