View Full Version : Vehicle: Citroen C3
mandaricmarko 02-23-2003, 06:11 PM Hey all,
Just posting up the finals to the C3 i did. Modeling in rhino, rendering in max w/ vray 1.09t @ 20 min per frame on a PIII 1.0ghz machine (w/768mb ddr).
Worked off of blueprints, though they're concepts and the car isn't remotely like this in real life.

very very nice work
the paint is shiny in some areas and dull in others. it should probably be more consistent. it is lacking car logos which make it seem a little odd.
you should probably go back and touch up the model and materials and put it in a nice enviroment so i can drool on my keyboard even more.

Tires seem a bit light... the head lights seem to be very dark :hmm: ...also, the interior seems pretty colorless.
but it looks great, modeling is superb!

Hay can you post your scene info, like how many lights, what shadows, GI samples how much objects recieve/generate gi...
im working on a model with vray too and just wanted to know.
Thanks

one directional light above the car casting a shadow (vray shadows), -3/-2 for gi calc under irr. map, 80 samples in irr. map, 15 samples in advanced irr. map roleout, no mod's to send recieve except for light boxes above (those got a vraymtlwrapper and removed sending gi).
that's about it.
rendered in 20min on a PIII 1ghz w/768mb ddr ram (2.03million polys at render time...)
*cough* vray owns *cough*

here are the blues i worked with:

http://bolteon.net/misc/mirror.jpg
http://bolteon.net/misc/side corner view.jpg

i didn't match the blues exactly, but i wanted the general feel of the car to come through... which it did (i hope).

not bad, although the front end looks a little bit too big, making the tiers seem too small.
Nice modeling job, it most definitly needs an environment now.

Don't forget to update the engine! ;)
Haha... :)
I don't know but the c3 looks like a cross between a Opel Corsa - Ford Focus and a litle from peugeot's 307
Can I call that a BONSAI Racer? ;)
Cya.

Yea man... That looks awesome...
Only problem I would say is it looks a little cel shaded in some parts of the model? maybe you could play with your relections/reflection maps a bit more! Other than that! EXCELLENT!

no, the blues arn't mine... they were given to me by someone else; not mentioning the name of hte person... most likely some concept artist without a name... i can get you in contact with the person who gave me the blues if you'd like...
