View Full Version : Houdini Technical Director's Blog
Robert Magee 01-29-2007, 09:34 PM Side Effects Software is pleased to announce a new blog written specifically for Technical Directors. This blog is authored by Senior Product Support Specialist Jeff Wagner, known in the Houdini online community as Old School. Recognizing a need for more technical director skills within the community, Jeff is preparing regular blog entries covering a range of topics. With each blog entry Jeff uses video demos, images and sample files to communicate and support his ideas.
The Old School blog will be available from the Learning section of the website. Jeff starts the blog with a brief Introduction then starts getting technical with a look at Modular Digital Asset Design. Each blog entry includes commenting tools and Jeff looks forward to hearing your feedback.

Good stuff! I'll be stopping by from time to time...
Just an idea: A mailing list would be a nice way of informing readers of updates to your blog. Personally I have a hard time keeping track of all the cool postings out there on the net, especially when updates are so few and far between.

People who really know how to use Houdini show some serious kung fu. I'm constantly amazed what can be done with it. Me? I tried the demo version and I didn't understand heads or tails of it. Doesn't make it any less of a software, though.
But I'll keep watching these. Maybe I'll get some insight on the program and the mystic arts of TDs.

Thanks for the feedback. RSS feeds are something we are looking into. Podcasts also interest us but for now Jeff is going for a mix of video and other media types.
