C4D Net Render is quite capable. What specific issue are you having?

need to render more than 9999 frames in a raw
need to render frame step "one to end" and not halfen the whole animation
need to render every Xth frame (yes there are command line options)
need to render custom frame rage + multiple frame rages
need to see what rendertime per image on client X
need to see howmuch % finish @ client X or need to see whats going on @ client X
need to chance save output path
and so on
thats all not new but Maxon dont do something - I thought @ version 10 is something new about but no
so I am looking around for other ways (cheap ways)
had the same problem with Lightwave but found a tool for 50$ and all runs fine
is the whole world using NetRender+Cinema? I dont think so

any render manager that supports custom commands or scripts should work.
i'd slap anybody that needed to render more then 9999 frames in one shot - insane.
it is a shame the new render step won't work with NET, and i too would like verbose logging or feedback - but NET Server is still quite a robust tool (just light on features)
Rush and butterfly netrender are two more i know about and i'm sure there may be others.
