Well this is my first post here at cgtalk! You guys seem pretty hardcore about modeling so this is the place for me :D. This image I created over the last few days, modeled everything you see in Wings3D, used UVmapper, textured in PSP7 and rendered in Bryce4. I'm currently a senior and high school, planning to get a bachelor of science in visual effects and motion graphics. (I really want to work with Maya and get on a creative team after college). I downloaded the personal learning edition of Maya and have been getting really familiar with the program. Well comments are great! Used a few oriental rugs for the ground texture on this one... here's the Wire for Jarra the Thief. (http://www.glasko.com/jarracage.jpg) Ahh expect to see him again up to no good in the future ;). Peace all, nice to join a new community of artists like myself.

his teeth look a little weird :surprised
kind of looks like he eating a box of dominoes
try and make them a bit smoother

also the lighting looks a little flat, perhaps have the light sources centered around the gem
and is that a seam running down the middle of his head? try and smooth that out a bit as well

Ahh thanks for the comments. Actually there is no seam in the model, that's just the way the arial lighting reflected off of him... You saying I should smooth him out a bit? Or rethink the model? I know his teeth are big, but I was going for a cartoon feeling, although they may stretch out past his face alittle too far.

wierd in a subtle good way. The teeth are the coolest thing you got going on there, and really turns your sculpt into a "character" rather then a mannequin.
The lighting vould be more dynamic as it leaves everything looking a bit flat. Maybe a rim light in there could help it out. I like the light from the gem idea.
