A modeling and texturing test. I used DOF which my computer could not handle due to the extreme memory size, so I had to do the background separately and fuse them in PS. Fake HDR using image from virtualvienna. Any comment appreciated.
Cheers!

great modelling!
the reflection is a bit heavy, i think... otherwise great!!!!
i expect that you wanted to go for the 'showcase'-look as the helmet is put on display like it is brand new. imo i'd go for a used look like you would see it in a museum. a few scratches here and there, the metall damaged by the heavy use in saltwater and from being tossed around the boot. let the helmet tell his story... ;)

Nice modeling... the reflections are strange, maybe exasperated, i'd like to see more bump. I'd replace the background, it's deformed and not so hi-quality. If you need references check these sites: www.eklettica.com www.danielrobichaud.com i hope it helps :wavey:

Thank's!
It was my intention to make it look new/polished, and studying real life replicas, their reflections are pretty similar to the one I did IMO. I am currently rendering a "old" worned version of it with a different background, I'll post it as soon as its finished.

Great image.
About the reflection. I am not shure the problem with the reflection is its strength - as this is a metallic reflection it should be bronze colored right? As it is the reflection looks too white.
Otherwise, good stuff.
