Hey,

Okay, so this is almost off-topic, but indulge me. I'm just prettying up my XP box a little by adding prettier icons and stuff (OS X primarily), but I can't find a high-res icon for Maya :(

I'm hoping someone out there might have one as a PNG or even an OS X icon for that matter. I'll do all the converting necessary if you could find it in your heart to send it to me

We now return you to your scheduled programming.

If it's in at least 128x128 I think it would make a mighty fine bunch of pixels on my objectdock :)

you could always make ur own icon too, if u use an app like microangelo you can take screengrabs and change em into icons :D

[edit: there should be a decent res pic of the maya logo on the Maya cd too, if ur aiming for the same look as the original]

I have a Maya Icon I made in OS X. It's not the round red one though. I also made it into a boot image for OS X you can take a look at it at:

It's at the bottom of the page.

I'll send it to you if you want it, but It will be after 6:00PM tonight because I'm leaving for work now.

See ya"

That'd be great!

BTW, what's up with using .sit on the mac? I mean why don't you guys use .zip? Is it integrated into the OS or...?

The reason I need it is for my poor man's OS X wannabe system :)

BTW, Are you in love with the city of Phoenix or something?:buttrock:

.sit is the extension for stuffit expander by Alladin Systems, but now most stuffit OS 10 users use .sitx which is a fairly new, and a better version. stuffit is free. it works well. It's compatable with both Mac, and windows (I use it for both my setups) It's good free, and works well. What else can I say. it unstuffs every format I think. I have nothing more to say about it. :)

I sent it in .ico format. I hope it holds it resolution.

Just FYI (and slightly OT):

Macintosh file formats have two forks of information - data and resource. The resource fork contains all the information like graphics, icons, text strings and other meta data - this makes it easy to create multi-lingual programs and also easy to customize. The data fork holds everything else.

The reason .sit is the main form of compression on the mac is because it retains both forks for the file. The .zip compression flattens the file to one fork and you loose access to the resources.

and now back to your regularly scheduled thread....
