View Full Version : Texture critique and suggestions

This is the first real effort at creating a full body texture from scratch and I realize it is not overly realistic...but then, it's not supposed to be.

I'm putting in a transparency map at the bottom of the pants so a pair of shoes are visible. I'm going to tweek the hair highlights some. And I'm thinking of putting something on the front of the shirt, not sure what though.

I just think a little more could be done to it to make it better, but I'm not sure what. So I put it to this forum: What can I do to make it better?

Oh, one other thing...

Any tips that I can get on UV mapping of bodyparts, especially for use in games, would be appreciated.

I'd avoid using the clouds filter for detail & tonal variation on the jeans - takes longer to paint them by hand but the results are worth it.
Also consider going for more tonal variation & contrast overall - she seems a bit flat that way.

I've been thinking of doing more work on the pants. The original idea was for her to have bleached/tie-dye look. I can see that I need to put in some wrinkles, especially around the knees.
