Phwhitfield 02-23-2003, 08:20 AM Hi
My newest project:
http://home.tiscalinet.ch/whitfield/pix/3d/gasse_1.jpg
The lightning is very bad at the moment. Just to see everything. Because i am more or less a beginner and don't have much time, the progress is very slow. But maybe I'll update another pic today.

I wouldn't say the lightning is bad but maybe some materials (door) have a too high spec?
Anyway, it's looking good, keep it up!

Yes, you are right about the door. I allready darkened it, thx.
I'm having some troubles with mental ray and it's settings, so the render doesn't look exactly the way i want it. But I'm sure going to fix that.

I've noticed that above the door is a dark line which shouldn't be there I think, or am I wrong?
EDIT: Oh and are your lightsources casting shadows?

No the dark line is suposed to be there. It just should be thinner.
Because at this spot two boards touch. But i don't know if i still want to do that.
But thx for your attention to detail ;)

Yes critics are usually wellcome nothing special about. I like the ones, that a normal human being understands... U know, those with normal sentences with verb and a noun if possible. But easy, i got your message. Finally...
:) :p

Almost done with the texturing i just have to think about a good texture for the glass of the window and i should render it with global illumination, but i need my computer... :D http://home.tiscalinet.ch/whitfield/pix/3d/gasse_3.jpg

The last update is a huge improvement to the last. Now put some really good lighting on it and you'll have a very good scene.
I think the ground texture could do with some work though, it looks very.. procedural at the moment.
What's this about needing a computer to render it though? How did you render the rest?;)

I rendered it by hand ;) . No, what i meant was that rendering global illumination really reduces my computer's speed. And i need it to do some aother things. But i sure will render it sometime.
You are also right about the lightning. But i didn't really work with lightning and i'm more in a modelling mood right now. So i will render it with a good quality sometimes but not at the moment. I'll post an update when the right time arives. :)
I only updated the ground texture... Hope it works now
