These are the rules:

You have 55 MN for your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them).

I like the idea good topic to work on. Good be read many ways. Nice first image. I thought the motion lines were a little mixed though. Might just be me though

Wow Vahn, it truly illustrates a hurricane! I like it, just as the topic idea. You probably get a high rank :) I don't have much time to make a sketch, I want to, but I have to much homework :(

EDIT:

I made one, a lot time I spend at experimenting, drawing this compensition is really hard :P ... but the end result still sucks :(, well, it won't hurt to post it, maby can someone give me some tips? After 55min:

Sketch itself took45 minutes, It needed something though, so I had this pencil sketch of a dragon I did last night ( not sure how long it took) anyway I popped him into my painting.

p.s i think it is some kind of powerplant, its probably something to be found in wild wes kind of world 1920s kind of stuff...

I've been drawing for a lot of these but never uploading them b/c I feel so unhappy w/ the product. I guess i just get fed up. BUt whats the point in taking part in something like this If you can't put your mess up afterwards? So I present you:

no references of any kind used...done in around 30 minutes.

I wanted to portray an evil tribal priest doing a spell thats effecting everything around him...the sky is turning red.....and the spell is even coming back to effect him as well which is denoted by the swirl coming towards him....added a vague devil like formation at the junction between the fire and the sky..... and the vague hand like form coming back to grasp him as well...

this is my first post on this forum...
