It's not certifyed yet on RH8, but runs very nice on RH 7.2 & 7.3. If you are running RH 8.0 you will have problems with the SPM server (it wont run).
But people how has the license server on another machine and are running RH8 says it works nice. I haven't tried it, I always goes with the "approved" version numbers.
And it is rock solid on linux :) But there will be a few features you can't use. (NetView & Text tools.)
Netview because it's based on MSIE, and text because.... I don't know. But then again I don't care since I've never used the text tool...

Thanks....
One of my concerns is installation......How?
I'm use to Microsofts way of handling software; Redhat is much different. There are no auto install packages.

Well, I haven't actually got the demo of XSI yet, but, I'm noticing with most of the software you would need to install on Redhat is handled much differently. I'm just not familiar with this setup. I was trying to install some burning software on Redhat and I was lost. The directory structure is different, though I have a better understanding of it now. It seems like Redhat expects you to know where the files are suppose to go???

i'm a little confused
- do you want to install on RedHat?
guess yes
- do you have XSI for linux?
- if yes what extension does the file package have?

ah....look you can't install a windows version on Linux. Linux has a complete different architecture so you can't install an .exe file on linux.
you need a linux version not a windows version.

What file extension does Redhat recongnized?
And will XSI come as a self install for Redhat?
If not, how do I install?

Im running it on RH 7.3 and as Stefan mentioned it's rock solid.
I also have it installed and ready to go once Soft gets the SPM app ready for 8.0 from the mailing list post they are said to be working on it.
If you have install errors with XSI on 8.0 you will need to install this package http://www.redhat.com/swr/i386/compat-db-3.3.11-2.i386.html
There might be a Linux Exp version in the future, for now windows is your only solution.
