HI guys,
thanks you for all your feedbacks
I was working back in time at method studios: www.methodstudios.com (http://www.methodstudios.com)
That spot was really hard acheive with a short deadline
i had i beleive 3 to 4 weeks of real post
here is more details about the process on my breakdown
page:
http://www.hartemus.com/02_breakdown/s015_direct.htm
i will tell you more about the process: pre-production and
post-production.
I was exclusively in charge of all the background/room replacment
I was the lead and i supervised the process (shooting elements, workflow..) for that aspect
of the background.
i had with me a team of 3 cgi artist during 3 to 4 weeks helping to acheive the final look
for the rest of the project you can have access of the full credit here
in the method website:
http://www.methodstudios.com/project/731.html
and i was involve in most of the shots: texturing, shading, final gathering,
ambient occlusion, reflexions (mental rays), layering and precomp
There was so many layers that worked at the end with 5 flames artist
That job was a tough one but a good challenge for me. a good occasion
to apply some of the olds tricks (cf camera mapping)
ooh for the music :
Such a Tease from Junkie XL
thanks

credit where credit is due
I encourage the users of this forum to follow the links to http://www.methodstudios.com/project/731.html
and
http://www.methodstudios.com/project/793.html
and note the contributions of ALL of the artists at Method studios (the company where these spots were done) who put in long hours and creative energies in achieving the high level of visual quality in these spots.
Cg specifically and visual effects of this sort are best achieved as collaborative efforts.
To be fair Hatem was the LEAD CG artist for these spots, but to say "...and i did by myself most of the shots:" is simply not true, because it ignores all of your coworkers and the proper credit they deserve for the work they did, both for this spot and for saturn.

Hi everyones,
I’m glad of all the feedback.
Due to all the enthusiasm. I’m preparing a big description of that spot
had an intense and heavy involvement in creating those backgrounds
During the preproduction for the rooms. I defined a process and supervised it
sure to have the rights elements to meet the level of quality and meet the deadline
I was working aside the main 2D VFX supervisor Alex frish of the spot DIRECT TV
I expressed in details my needs to achieve the background replacement for all the concerned room.
And we shots them into digitals pictures (with multiple exposure)
During the post. I was in charge to apply the process and recreate all those rooms. I worked with a team of 3 to 4 CG artists.
I drove that big part of the VFX Post (recreation of the rooms). And art directed them to make them nicer based on the framing and the camera move. I supervised the quality of the render for most of the room. Beside leading I really pulled the hours to the post as a CGI artist. It’s more than 6 years that I’m developing and optimizing the technique of cameramapping and that job was a good opportunity
During the comp process I contribute the quality and worked with several flam artist. The deadline was really tight (like always in that industry)
For a full credit list you can check on the method website
