View Full Version : [Max] Video render failed??? (PLZ help)
madmenno 01-27-2007, 01:06 PM Hi i made a video with a scanline render. But when i want to open the avi it just flickers on and off and showing only the first frame. Like a movie of 1 frame.
I did save it correctlly in common render setup. Also i checked active time segment. and i used microsoft Mpeg 4 Video codec V3 to make an .avi.
Plz help me out! It took 15 hours to render this and i got nothing, monday i need to atleast show something to the video editor....
Thnx in advance

Never ever render straight into a clip, use uncompressed frame sequences like Tiffs or Targas. Your video editor should be able to handle that.

Yup your right!
Just spoke to the guy, he wants .tga's in sequance. Also with alpha passes (as i have no background just a matte/shadow plane.
Also he told me something about aspect ratio, 4:3 and 720*576 pixels (good to know :D) and i have to use 25 frames per second.
Also 72 dpi is standart right? it just means dot's per inch right? so 4:3 would be 10 inches broad and 750 high?
Thnx

No.
Dpi doesn't mean anything in TV, whether you have a telly 150 inches wide or 5 inches wide, there are no more than 720 pixels(when using PAL resolution which you do obviously)

So a bigger tv would always make the image more "blurred" in PAL resolution?
But what does DPI mean exactly? Isn't it dot's per inch?

Use the RAM-Player or VirtualDub.
