View Full Version : choose a retime plug, Retimer or Twixtor ?
poulpenoir 01-26-2007, 03:43 AM my society will purchase a soft for retime some shots,
my first impression is to choose TWIXTOR because for hard retimes, u can help him with many trackers, and shapes... (i try "Retimer" and there's nothing like that)
what's your opinion ?

Without knowing which application your using, twixtor is very good plugin and runs with most compositors. Retimer though is a standalone app.

Still, i haven't see any package that is able to solve transparent object like water. And also a slowmo on a shot where the object is obscure by other geometry. I know u can create a matte, but sometimes u just don;t have the time for that. When u come into HD 1080p, it's better for you to do a proxy to 720p and lower compression to get the right settings. It's a pain in the ass to work in that resolution for retiming.

Twixtor would probably be the best for water since it allows hinting with splines to drive the vectors.

Have you ever tried retiming an explosion through a chainlink fence? ;) Great fun. Twixtor seems to fit my needs while on Shake.
