Here is a viking boat model I have been working on for the past few days. I really did not have that great of referance so I had to do this sort of freehand/out of my mind, first model I have ever done that with and i'm really happy with how it came out.

Here is a few of the best referance images I had to go off of.

I still have to do a little more modeling on it like build the tail on the back of the ship, and the head on the front of it to make the ship seem like a dragon.

It's looking good so far, i like it. Do you have any wire shots? What kind of texture look are you planing to use? Is it going to be a new looking boat, or more like a used worn down one? Well keep it up can't wait to see the finished piece.

zaku83: Sure I can get you up a wireframe shot. Texturing I'm not to sure yet if I want to do a older used viking boat or a new just made one yet. sorry just have not thought about the texture side of it, this model came out of a speed modeling challenge I had with a friend.

It's looking good so far, but I think you're really missing out on the aggressiveness that those Viking ships just spew out ;) One thing that really sticks out are the gunwales. On yours, you've got them smoothed over, which gives it a chunky and soft feel. The keel should also be hardened, I'd have it as a 4 sided object, with the top face deleted where you can't see it. The seats could also use some hardening, and maybe not quite as wide, it'd be difficult to get your legs in there :)

Good luck with it, it's pretty good for a first model :)
