mental images is offering both its artist and its programmer mental ray training classes in LA February 2007, and in London March 2007

A series of one-day intensive classes for artists, based in LA, will take place on the following dates:

Feb. 12-14 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) 10AM-6PM

Monday is the basic introduction, Using mental ray - Shaders
Tuesday is all about FG, Using mental ray - Finalgathering
Wednesday addresses motion blur, Using mental ray - Motion and the Rasterizer
US $195.00 per day

The class for programmers, based in LA, will take place on the following dates:

Feb. 26-28 (Monday-Wednesday) 10AM-6PM
Three day class in Writing mental ray Shaders
US $1500.00 for three-day class, including personal use standalone mental ray.

In London,

March 14-16 (Wed.-Fri.) Using mental ray series (described above)
150 Euros per day

March 19-21 (Mon.-Wed.) Writing mental ray Shaders
1150 Euros for three-day class, including personal use standalone mental ray

I remember attending the intro and FG sessions about 9 months ago (earlier in 06') and you guys mentioned that you might have an SSS class or something. Is that still in the works?

Yeah, the SSS class, maybe paint and mia_material as well.
Reminder that the basic 3 classes are next week.
We hope to address how to think about using those fancier shaders,
at the end of the first (Shaders) day, and the beginning of the second (FG) day.

Are the London dates going ahead? I can't see anything on their website.

Yes, in fact the artist class in London is full, so we must consider possibly adding another artist class. Write to training@mental.com to express your interest to make that happen.

We've added another set of artist series classes in London.
Now a second class series will be given
