This is a really fantastic piece of work. The only things that jumped out at me is the weird tangent of the guy's cape that appears to touch the gun/arm of the mech. And the cracked ground seems a bit too regular/orderly. I only mention these because this is such an amazing illustration and those are the couple things that could be easily improved. Maybe you're not done with it after all! Beautiful work, regardless.

Very well done. I'm another stickler for details, so I looked at the hires file, and it's incredible. You've managed to catch everything, it looks great.:)~Angela

I really like the colors and mood and the amazing details.
Maybe if she had hat hair it would look like she just took off her helmet for the description but then again never mind. Looks great just the way it is.

You tried to make a warior woman that wouldn't be sooooo beautiful and strong ...but In the end you did it. You made one of the most beautiful characters I have ever seen. woman so strong and beautiful that only the life can make better. Your style isn't my favourite but it doesn't matter. Things I like here are not matter of style but matter of self expression which I believe is very deep in here.
5 stars. I would like to see that picture in CG choice award gallery.

what a beautiful exection. I think you pretty much nailed everything you wanted to.
One thing that I would mention is the fact that she is looking out of the picture left on top of the fact that she is already positioned left. It makes me naturally follow her eyes and out of the painting. Even though the composition works perfectly and is really beautiful I would probably have had her look at the little origami piece in her hand instead of out of the picture.
I can see though that her looking to the left gave you a very nice opportunity to accentuate (sp?) her cheekbones and workout her delicate features.
Other then that the whole composition and color scheme is incredibly beautiful and the mix between emotion and cold technic is very well done. :)

Every detail is alive. The road, the girl’s eyes – they are so sad and so very beautiful.

Beautiful charachter, you really nailed it down here! It matches perfectly your intentions, and it's my fauvorite approach to the "warrior woman"... Beautiful lighting, too. Not so sure about such a flat ground, having all those pointed rocks around, though, but just to crit something.
Good stuff!!

Magnificent image! Really is worth looking at the highres links. My only suggestion is to give her just a tad more emotion on her face. Perhaps a tear in her eye, a little something more to tell us she is sad or lonely or sick of it all. Your lighting is very good, and I love all your detail and textures. Congrats! 5stars

Thanks a lot for the great comments everyone.
Kyena, I wrestled with that very issue at great length. In the end, I thought it was more appropriate to have her gazing out into the distance as if she were trying to picture home. I also thought that her facing away from the bulk of the alien landscape would suggest contempt for the planet.
but I also just liked the pose when I sketched it and I've always wanted to use the "translucent ear" that I've admired in so many other pieces.
I love reading your thoughts everyone, Thank you!

I really belive that the very best illustrations are like Chinese boxes. There're stories within stories within stories, pictures within pictures.
You've proven my paradime with this amazing illustration. The details and the brushwork are incredible1 They're not done as slavish reproduction of reality, but in a delicate painterly fashion. I'm going back to pour over the hires detail frames.
Bravo! more please sir.

Awesome work! I love the details and I believe you have achived what you were up to.. A beautiful woman, with character and strength, and at last.... some modesty!
excellent! Though I will agree with Natascha that if she were looking at the origami bird it would keep the viewers attention in frame... now she is kinda "dettached" 4*

Wow...the high res version really makes your image stand out. Your attention to detail is astonishing and you really used all those hours very well. The left part is a bit too dark perhaps, and some of the rendering gets lost, but I believe that can easily be changed.
Congratulations on your hard work with this stunning result!

Wow, just beautiful. Your attention to detail n the character is inspiriing, the background especially as your eye follows the cracked road into the landscape and sky gives it a surreal alien feel.
Great stuff 5*

Realy amazing work. I like the melan(te)cholic mood. I do not understand the story of this - it seems more like a professional perfum-advertising in the future, but its great anyway and a piece of its own.
