Title: Dacia 1301 - Old scene
Name: Alex Coman
Country: Romania
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop, VRay
Hello guys! My inspiration for this work was actually a street here in my city. I added an old effect because i wanted to simulate the years 1970-1980. I used 3d studio max 9 vray and photoshop for composing but mostly for texturing. I used textures from the net bul almost all were pained(but all modified to suit my needs.) I hope you enjoy. By the way, I posted the wip here on the forums too. Here is the pure render: http://www.slibe.com/image/d8677891-dacia_final_nomo/
Take care guys!

Looks good, but I don't think the old-style is consistent with the time period, and looks a bit anachronistic. Sepia looks fine for miners down t'pits, but not the 70s. You could try a contrasty, grainy B&W look to achieve the same effect without much more work (don't worry, this is a photo ;)):

Anyway, just my opinion.

hey Alex ! great job on the car. it gott the fealing of the romanian 70's Dacia. i;ve seen tour WIP , and i'm glad you finished the image.
about the sepia i think it's just the way it should be. the black & white it's good for an english 70's scene , but for Romania the sepia does it. ;)
good luck !

Hi Alex ! Glad to see it finished ! The fantastic job you did, especially in texturing, is a bit lost in this sepia tones render, though, but the overall feeling is nice. Congratulations ! I'm looking forward to your next project.
See you !
Chris.

hi, the image looks cool and the modeling is top notch, but the black stripes are something that was found on old film not photos- this to me seems like it is a photo so i would remove them and add some thorn edges of a photo paper or something like this, and add some fading on the edges aswell..
hope this helps :)

Great image...
...but I have to agree with kirigoi on the sepia. The sepia looks like those photo's people get done when they dress up in Victorian costumes. Its a product of its time and that particular time was over decades before when this shot must occur. What was wrong with the original colour version?
