I'm going to be redesigning my website in about 2 weeks and wanted some general advice. I'm going to stick to 3 main pages. A short introduction about me, my 3d work, and my resume. Before I have had a 2d and video site aswell all with mediocore work but my 3d stands out now. How do you feel about this?

My main question is how to take renders? You can see on my website now how I have been doing it:

Anyone remember that from one of the first cgtalk micro game art challanges? Anyway it really takes a lot of time to think of how to compose the scene, model the extra elements, design the background, etc. Not that spending time on it is bad but I think for the outcome I'm not sure it is worth it. Also I use skylights and other elements which may not be a good way to display game models.

I have a lot of weapons that will be going up on my new site incase it will influence your advice. I'm just curious what is a good way to make these renders.

I was thinking of just displaying them from a few different angles on a grey background and haveing a gradient into wireframe. Also not attaching the texture sheets.
