OK, I just installed 5.1 and the latest Maxtreme 4.0028 and now Max is crashing like crazy....like every 5 minutes. I am using 2600+ Asus a78nx with Quadro 750. Any ideas would be helpful.

Can you discribe the exact nature of your crashes? I also think adding the word "Maxtreme" to the subject of your post would help get Nvidia's attention.

Well, I forgot to mention that I also just installed textporter into my plugins, but then promptly deleted it because I thought it would be the cause of the crashes. But to answer your question, I open up my scene start moving a thing or two, then goto camera one/ render and whammo, "application has encountered an error would you like to save changes". Other than that the crashes happen at random places, usually associated with a render. Thx in advance

Can you come up with a way to replicate your error? And post your machine specs? Maybe let people download a sample scene?

The thing is, I was criticizing Maxtreme for max5 for several months on this board. Nvidia started reacting to my complaints. I have an impression that they do fix bugs that they can replicate.

Personally, I get errors while opening sample files like biplane, rabbit and appollo. If I disable Dual Planes these errors are not instant.

Kinda screwy because I have almost that exact setup (2600+, a7n8x) except I have a gf4 4600 softquadro'd into a 900. Maxtreme (28) is installed and it works fine.

Detonator versions maybe? It works well on my home machine as well. Doesn't work at work. There's gotta be something.

How's the softquadro performance?

41.03

It's pretty darn good. Seems to be better than all the production cards at our office. Although I can't spit any benchies yet.

Well, I feel kind of goofy saying this, but I couldn't figure out how to take a screen shot of Max with error. I've never had the occasion to make a screen shot, so if anyone can give me a quick tut, I'll post the information. Thx

hmmmm, I was just playing around with this scene some more and noticed that every time I try to render with camera 1, then the app crashes. But, I have three more cameras that render fine. Maybe camera 1 got corrupted somehow?

Hmmmm.... that camera thing is weird. Is this scene the only one that crashes?

For the screen grab, just press the print screen button (when you press it, it copy's the image to the clipboard) and paste it into photoshop or a similar program and save it.

Take a look and see if anything looks wierd. Basically I reinstalled (or ran repair) on Max, opened up the file and deleted camera 1. Everything was going peaches until I recreated another camera 1 and tried to render. Then another crash.?? Sorry if it loads slow, I wanted to make sure the text could be read. Thx

It's the same error I'm getting only it's not related to renders in my situation. It happens on 3 different types of systems, so I believe it's not hardware-related. It works without glitches on 1 system. I also tried to reinstall max, disable all software that runs in the background such as antivirus and to install several different drivers. You may try to install the latest detonators from Nvidia's site if you haven't tried that already.

I have an impression it has problems with certain types of textures. With Dualplanes disabled I get strange artifacts on textures on "appollo" (from samples). First viewport does not respond to tools, after switching to 4 planes the texture is all cut-up and distorted. "Rabbit" opens with only his head visible.
