Been a long time lurker on CGT, recently I got an internship at a media company in montreal, the only catch being i had to move over from MAX to maya, so I been using maya for a week and a half and decided to make my first character a evil version of optimus prime (season 3 i belive)

as always, C&C is welcome.

a side note: I work EXTREAMLY slow in maya, just not used to it i guess, and also, the model is very quickly put together, and as such there are little irregularities with it.

I'm not familiar with the Transformers series, but the hand is pimpin. If the rest of him is like that, it'll be great.

heh cool.. I saw Scourge and then your picture and i was like "Scourge? It looks just like optimus prime WTF?" And then read.. heh. Anyway, I like it. but the polys on the wheels looks a little overkill.. or is there treading and such, hard to tell with wireframe

Yeah I think it's a little bit overkill, the problem is I didn't know how to make the treading properly :S like i mentioned ive only been using maya for a couple of weeks. I might redo the tires.

out of curiousity, what company in montreal, and are they offering anymore internships?...

Selvagem: AH productions, and no they are not offering any more internships, the reason:

I used to work for AH a few years ago, but lost my job due to the hollywood boycott of canada (if you remember all the large companies lost their jobs and took them from the smaller companies) my main job back then was 3d "guy" (lol thats what i was reffered as :P) I lost my job as a web development artist/coder(recently), and I called up my old boss, he told me that he has expanded and if I was interested in learning maya I could come work for him, if I did a 2 week "crash course" to show i can learn it. thus my "internship"

render of the back nothing is really done on it (missing the cabin, back of head, hydraulics, gonna redo the hands, just decided that, missing feet, you get the point)


tell you the truth I have NO CLUE how to texture this!!! (or ik for that matter) since i have only been using maya for a month on and off, and have only topuched poly modelling.
