hi all, i am sorry for having to ask this, but i need a straight answer to this question.

i have been planning to do things in the order of

modeling>texturing>deformers>rigging>skinning>animation

i guess i am not sure when it is too late to texture, and if deformers should come before rigging or not. or if it even matters. i could really use some help with this. thanks

That seems like a fine way to do it. You said you weren't sure when its too late to texture, and its never REALLY too late, (and i say that loosely) but you want to think about if you're doing things like characters separately in different scenes and then importing, you dont wanna import a non-textured character into a scene because then you'll have to re-texture him every time you want him in a different scene... so basically im saying dont texture after you animate. I always animate last as well.

I also usually rig a character, and then texture it, because sometimes moving a character might small weird changes on the way the texture or shader looks, depends on the setup and the texture itself.

But thats just the way I do it:rolleyes:

i like to texture before i bind.... for the sole fact that it is better to not have history on your geo before you bind.... textureing after you bind can cuase many headaches with accidnetal deormations of uv sets ect.... your pipeline looks good :)
