Hello,

I am trying to render a scene that consists of two area lights, one above and one below my model. When I render it out using depth map shadows the shadows on my model look black. It looks toon shaded. Any idea how this might be corrected without adding more lights and render time? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Deomacius.

Hmmmm hard to tell, I take it you've already tried lighting up the shadow color?

Hello,

I did try lightening up shadows but to no avail. It turns out that area lights cast very hard shadows. I switched to using 1 directional light above and one below. That solved the problem. I'll have to revisit that shadow thing with area lights. It seems like there should be a way to correct that. Now all that's left is to tweak it to perfection. Here is what the image looks like with the 2 opposing directional lights....
