Thanks for the welcome Red Frog, I hope to get one of my hand drawn images digitized and use it as a avatar here soon. I would love any tips on where to go to find great tutorials for textures/backgrounds/landscapes. This is a huge site and one easily gets lost for hours just looking at the awesome artwork that people post.
All of you are a big imsperation to me and I hope to maybe get my skills up to be a shadow of your images. Thanks again for any links or emails of links.
cool entries so far

Brittany, you're such an inspiration, I love looking at your sketches!! Makes me want to sketch too - only mine suck! :D
Do you have any tutorials on your workflow? I just really like your results... any insight would be awesome :)

thanks so much, Runecaster, :) (and your sketches don't suck at all - so don't say that)
As for tutorials... I haven't put together anything official yet. I did, however, just redesign my website (www.brillustrations.com (http://www.brillustrations.com/)) to include a sort of online sketchbook blog (britt's blog). I'm going to try to include tutorials and step-by-steps there. And if I ever do put together a daily-sketch-ish tutorial, I'll make sure to post it here too. Oh, and I also have a page of my site (sketch) that's basically solely dedicated to all my daily sketch work from this forum - if you want to check it out.
Thanks for your interest.

The participation and quality of art on this thread is amazing. Picking a favorite is going to be very difficult :)
Brittany - your revamped site is great!
hehe cool entries this time
redfrog: solid sketch.. and pretty sharp for just 1h
cmc: welcome to the dsg
Min: cool style! head & shoulderpart are really cool
jtuulos: wb. I like the design of the helmet as well
dh: dynamic! nice flow in there, just the head looks a bit warped
smcoral: yo! cool b&w style
mats g: hehe reminds me of terminator
Arlekin: hehe "come here i can still spit!"
Ivy00: hey you hid the horse with fog! hehe ..i like the light on him :)
christian: i really like the angle in there ..just the background disturbs a bit. a layer of 50% gray on that would pop out the rider more..
noiram: cool sketch! i like the simple shapes you built the woman with
wexter: hehe dont worry and dont apologize plz! the light comes from the right direction :D
Supermuscle: classic colorscheme. whats he doing? smoking a joint under his visor ? :D
Ayaxiac: cool! the arm is a bit too high tough
hhorse: hehe pretty good for 80 secs
ivandi: hihi it looks like he puts his sword trough his head :D
Robertt: good angle...her legs are very very short tough
Brittany: very nice! actually my favorite so far. I like the effect of the more developed greyscale on the face and the flatter one on e the rest of the body. nice work!
lucavi: cool style! do you always do the base sketch with hand or do you paint in ps from scratch as well ? :)

Vahn: Hey dude. Yeah I do sketch on paper then dick around in PS.
Noodles: Amano is a big influence. Hope to do more DSG but between work and errands, I'm always out of time.
Hey, Kanoa! Lazy bones, man.
You guys are much too much. Thanks for the love. Hope to see more goodies from all of you, here and in the other topics. Peace and sweetdreams, y'all.

well i'm again a bit late...many entries here
redfrog, simple design but everything is here, i really need to learn from you, "it is possible to do something great without adding many useless details here and there"~ so great work especially on the chest and shoulders.
bumskee, interesting character and in...erf 45mins
danielh68, great dynamic!
Vahn, i like your character, not so terrific lol but he seems a good guy. In fact everything seems so smooth, natural in your sketch.
Noiram, 20mins? That's a pity that we cannot see what the result would have been in 55 mins!
SuperMuscle, good job, nothing else to say.
Ayaxiac, nice pose
Robertt, nervous sketch, i like that! I don't know if i could use as you and by choice less time than the one given lol
BrittanyRichardson, good job especially on the face!
lucavi, i'll not be original, i'm fan lol. All your work i've seen now (just medusa, cirque du soleil and this one) are so damn good! They give me all that special feeling, perhaps you know it when you regret to have not been able to create that piece before someone else and in the same time it is fascinating and inspiring. I'm happy awaiting your next work.
SamsonsReaper, well, the character has an expressive pose, the lighting is great as always and in 55 mins, what can i say, it is a sketch but everything is precise where it is necesary to be precise and everyting is sketchy where it is not necessary to be precise, so a pretty good sketch!!
Here my two sketches for the moment
Painter IX.5, 1h10minutes with the pose
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p76/hecartha/Black-Knight-1h10min1.jpg
and this one
Painter IX.5 1h45minutes with the design lol
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p76/hecartha/Black-Knight-2-1h45min1.jpg
It seems i'm not able now to work on design and on an interesting pose in a little time~
