View Full Version : Theme Park
zaku83 01-20-2007, 10:18 PM Hello there!! well, here is a project I am currently working on for my portfolio. It is a theme park entrance, kind of like the main street in Disneyland. I'm still modeling buildings for it and adding more to the streets like plants and light post and etc... Some of the buildings are hollowed out and have interior walls. It would be cool to hear what you guys think and if you got any advices. I do plan to texture this and hopefully add it into Unreal to run through it. Some of the buildings are hollowed out and have interior walls.

i'm a sucker for the "gray render/textureless" shots....
looks damn cool. while it feels a bit constrained for an amusement park [most have wide open entrances "welcoming" you to their park], this feels like a great game level with the clock tower being a great spot to snipe.
are you going to texture each building differently [like the old western building, next to the medieval time building?] because they would be a lot of work but well worth it.
good luck, looking awesome.

thanks...and yeah I plan to texture each building differently, I hope the textures will really make the environment stand out more.
doood, I wanna play it on unreal2k4 hahaha! very nice level design
Do the have such walls around disneyland?
While i saw the first picture i thought its somekind of semi-military base. Somekind of mad-max like protected town. These walls with fences on top look more like a jail...
Well anyway... keep on working. Maybe the textures can make it look completly different.

I don't think they do have walls like that at disneyland lol but it would be cool if they had something similar (my opion) lol. but, i didn't really want the level to look like disneyland i just wanted to layout that disney had for main street. the feel i was going for was, yes a mad max post apocolyptic area. i wanted that jail look to make the player feel as if they are traped in this world.its like eveything disneyland isn't like disney's evil cousin. Oh and for those who are wondering, i'm still planing to model more lands to attach to this one...just need more time to model them out (with rides). lol ok thanks for the feed back so far.
