View Full Version : Have a N00b FX question

I am working on an intro title for a video and I would like a certain kind of effect, but I am having no success in creating it.
Would any of you guru's out there have any ideas on how to have a solid Text ( that part isnt a prob :rolleyes: ) and have the windblow on it from the back and have the text erode into sand?

Howdy !

I'd say use a particles plugin, such as Sandblaster or Thinking Particles; it may be possible to achieve without any plug, though, but i'm not quite sure how, i guess you'd have to use a mesher object.

Brandon is our particles guru, so maybe he'll pop in to help on that ? :thumbsup:

Anyone remember the short done recently... I think it was at sigraph, the guy wrote the music for it also. Land of the robots, or somthing like that. the intro for it had the title being eroded away into dust.

anyway, from what I remember it was pretty basic but worked really well. partical system, prolly sandblaster, and some simple animated bump maps in conjunction with a scale.. I dunno. see if u can find the short I was talking about
