BartW 02-21-2003, 11:28 AM Are there any tutorials, guides or other stuff that can help me on the way to quickly get the grips of lightwave, as a 3ds max user ?
just some short guide to the main differences, cause using lightwave feels soooooooooo weird! :D

Thanks for the superfast help guys
Yeah, max is weirder.....but once your used to a piece of software certain stuff becomes a routine and it's getting harder to think the 'easy' way :D

It's funny how peoples views on Max differ so wildly.
I used Max for a few years before switching to LW, and I found it extraordinarily simple. In fact, one of the main reasons I switched to LW (apart from the fact that I had to use it at work) was that I found Max TOO simplistic for my tastes :)

Well, it's not that I feel it's difficult....it just has it's own logic or structure. The more you use it the more logical it gets.
The 3d software in general doesn't seem to have the same kind of structure, unlike with Illustrator or Photoshop -ish software :)
But other than the UI/layout it's just a matter of taste....wether you like the skinny girl with the long leggs or the short one with the big t*ts
Well my max experience is almost non existant, i've only had a couple of chances to play with it, and no doubt if i sat down for a decent amount of time i would be able to pick up the basics. Having starting learning lightwave from the begining i found it relatively easy to pick up, and it wasn't until the other day when i tried to show a friend some of the basic that i realised how much i knew and just how difficult it could be for someone starting out!
Glad i don't have to start from scratch!!

Nice comparison!
